14th Post

Another Christmas, another bunch of presents.

I didn't get as much done this Christmas as I'd intended to. I took a couple of days off for a break from school, and then, playing football with my two brothers, I ended up spraining both of my middle fingers.

Due to that, I'm reduced to typing with thumbs and pinkies, and it's cut down on my drawing and guitar playing in a big way.
Definately throws a monkey-wrench into the works.

But, to quote the old Bulldog of Winston Churchill "Never give up. Never, never give up!. We shall go on to the end."
And I shall.

That is all.

13th Post

Here is Wolverine, I'd done the drawing before, but just coloured it in illustrator, and touched up in photoshop a bit.

That is all.

12th Post

I've often thought of what, in the Batman universe, I would be.

Well, this is me as a member of The Joker's gang.

I've been Jokerized.

That is all.

11th Post

Here's the Jim Carrey drawing jam. I didn't exactly do it in the Beetlejuice style, but I do like it, all the same.
That is all.

10th Post

Here's a gestural drawing and model sheet for an animation character we had to do, after doing a quick sketch exercise. We would do one quick drawing a minute, for an hour.

That's a lot o'drawing.
And that is all.

9th Post

I've been on a little coloring spree.

I re-did my Scotsman in Illustrator, and it looks alright to me.

I'm also putting up a character I designed for a story-boarding assignment, where we have to storyboard an original story idea, and we're doing Zombies That Go Quack! (written by yours truly), based on the Archie comic style. This is a rather big assignment, which ties in with two other classes (Acting, and Script writing)

Here's my character, Steve Dave.

8th Post

I finally got around to re-doing some older Drawing Jams, like the Marilyn Monroe and the Bruce Lee subjects.

We've now got to do Jim Carrey, in Beetlejuice style, and I think that that one should be fun.

Anyway, here's my Bruce Lee.

I re-redid my Bruce Lee, again. I coloured him in Adobe Illustrator.

And my Monroe, which I turned into a guy with rocket shoes, because we all would if we could.

And I also re-vamped my Unknown Soldier piece, and threw in a gradient BG.

That is All.

7th Post

I've been reading a lot of my old comics, and one of those comics just happens to be The Unknown Soldier.

The graphic novel is full of fantastic artwork, and I chose to replicate one.

I'd had this done in my sketchbook since the summer, but I decided to re-do it with my calligraphy pen, on better paper.

Not bad for my 2nd try with the calligraphy pen, if I do say so myself.

Which I do.

Done with ink, and filled in with graphite. Not much can beat a good #2 pencil.

6th Post

Here is another drawing jam. We had to do Sarah Silverman.

Not exactly a subject I would've chosen willingly, so I chose to turn her into a man, and then I turned that man into a zombie.

I did this with a calligraphy pen, and for my first time using it, I think it went fairly well.

I should be doing more calligraphic stuff, which I'll be sure to put up, also.

That is all.

Fifth Post

This is a character sheet from Character Design class. We had to design either a pirate or a highwayman from the 17th century, and make them an anthropomorphic character (animal with human traits), on top of that.

I chose a rat highwayman, because I assumed everyone else in the class would go for a pirate...but from what I've seen, most of the others in the class had been thinking similarly to me. But there was a 50/50 decision to be made, so that's kind of to be expected.

Fourth Post

This is another drawing jam. We had to draw Bruce Lee, in Samurai Jack style.

I kind of deviated from that a bit, and did it in a Sam Jack/ Street Fighter style. Completely forgetting the poses we were supposed to follow, so this warrants a re-draw for me.
I'm posting this anyway because I really liked how it turned out.
And yes, I am fighting Bruce Lee.

That is all.

Third Post

This drawing is for the redesign of the Jalloo logo, another drawing jam project.

I chose to do a Scot, because Jalloo is a Gaelic word for, basically, all forms of art...

It turned out alright.

That is all.

Second Post

Did another Drawing Jam. I just have to redo my Marilyn Monroe one, and do the Bruce Lee one and I'll be caught up, for another week.

I changed the pose of the third Mary-Louise Parker image, and also made her into me.

In a lovely coconut-cup bikini top, grass skirt, and killer socks to match.

I had fun with this one.

That is all.

First Post.

I dislike storyboards.

It's not that I hate them, it's just I dislike the long process. I hate the feeling of impending work, and knowing that there's a paper-mountain to crawl up.

That is all.
